How to Enable/Disable Speed Limit Warning on Google Maps

Google Maps is one of the most used navigation software on the internet, and the platform now comes with a speed limit function that shows users the speed limit of the road they're on and warns them if they are exceeding it.

This is one of the best ways to avoid over speeding in certain areas in your city. How does this function work? Google Maps will show the speed they're driving at but advises users to check their speed on the car's speedometer. The speed limit information can be found on the bottom left corner of the map while navigating, above the bar that displays the duration of the journey, ETA, remaining kilometres, and so on.

How to Enable/Disable Speed Limit Warning on Google Maps

Follow the steps below to turn on Speed Limit Warning for an Android smartphone:

  1. First, Open Google Maps.
  2. Now on the top right corner, click on your Profile picture or your initials.
  3. Navigate to Settings.
  4. Scroll down to Navigation Settings.
  5. Go to the Speed Limits setting to toggle it on or off.

That's all, when you toggle on you will be notified by Google Maps if you are exceeding the speed limit on the road you're driving on, and if you toggle it off you will not get any warning.
